Millinocket Ski Trip - March 15, 2012

WE HAD A GREAT TIME TODAY!
We landed at The Lodge, got our
boots and skis and loaded the
bus for the "BAIT HOLE."  Why is it
called that, you ask?  Our guide, Jenny,
said that they were baiting bear out there.
After the eyes got big and everyone gasped,
she told us that it was a pond where bait fish
were caught...GOOD TIMES!

Getting the skis on, ready to roll--feeling pretty confident right now...no one has fallen...yet!!

Getting ready for the "rodeo."  For the rodeo, the kids were asked to ski over a low grade and then up a small hill.  We were then put into small groups, so students were with others that could ski at a similar pace.

AND...WE'RE OFF !!

THE HUGE HILL ... AND AWESOME MEMORIES!

THE HOME STRETCH !!

Here we are...all done and waiting for the train!  It was headed to Brownville
with a BIG load...with a couple hoots and hollers and a wave, its whistle blew
and we were headed back to The Lodge!

As you can see in the photo (right), Meg was instrumental in getting the extra long whistle!
